Hi my dear sourdoughmaniacs, Today's the 1st ann Hi my dear sourdoughmaniacs, 

Today's the 1st anniversary since my beloved husband Sašo passed away. He was my partner, my dearest friend, my trustworthy companion, supporter, and the reason sourdoughmania started in the first place in 2012 ❤

My love for better bread sprang out of love for him; he had his gallbladder removed and wasn't able to eat yeasted bread. So searching for other ways to bake bread, I found sourdough, and the rest is history...

We spent more than 17 years together, walked through thick and thin. The last 7 years spreading the sourdoughmania bug brought us even closer together, deepened our love and devotion for each other, changed and transformed us, opened our hearts, so we started sharing our love for better bread with all of you here🤗

I'm beyond grateful to Sašo for everything he gave me, everything he taught me, he was a truly remarkable, passionate, and kind person. With a broad array of skills and knowledge, depth, and a true humanitarian. I grew up beside him, and discovered my mission.

This year was full of important events, the launch of my 2nd book, the first book being translated into Dutch&French, my online membership programme; at the end of each of these events, I burst into tears and cried my eyes out, as he wasn't there with me and I wanted to share the feelings with him so much.

In my heart I feel he's here and watching over me while baking. Grief is a process, and I've cried a lot, kneaded a lot, walked a lot, talked with my dearest friends. And a big thank you to all of you who follow me here on Instagram, sending me your sourdough bakes, and tagging me, inspiring me to continue my life's mission.

Saso said no matter what happens, never forget your goal to teach as many people as possible to bake with sourdough so we can all eat better bread 🙌

That's why I continue my mission with these words in my mind: It all started out of love and it continues out of love too💕

Thank you for accompanying and inspiring me on this sourdough journey! Sourdough mania wouldn't be the same without you❤🤗

long time no hear from me, but let me tell you why ❤ I've been up to my chin in sourdough 😍 Since March, I've sent out more than 800 packages of semi-dried Rudl across Slovenia so people could bake better bread at home. Every action/loaf counts, and we need to stand together even if we are apart🤗

Besides sending out my starter, I've finished my second book a sequel to the 1st, titled Slana in sladka drožomanija (Savoury and sweet sourdoughmania) coming out end of May and already available for preorder. And the star of the book is the #sweetstiffstarter which I've been using ever since it was introduced to us at the Quest for Sourdough event in 2016 by @stefancappelle 🙌

Have you tried it yet? It's a stiff starter at 40-50% hydration, 25 % sugar, 10-20% of your regular starter, so you give the yeasts additional boost and make them more osmotolerant. The first build takes a bit longer, but with the second one, your sweet starter will be much faster and will be able to leaven your enriched dough much better 💪🏻Let me know if you try it🙌You can search my recipes under the hashtag sourdoughmania_recipe, and you'll find the recipes with stiff starter there as welll😘 *
