Before you feed your starter, leave a minimum amount in the jar, small residues covering the bottom of it. Personally, I add water first, cover the jar, and shake it and thus clean it. Then I add four, mix and clean the sides. Cover with a lid, and leave at room temperature for an hour. Then place it in the fridge.
